The Centripetal division was very tightly matched. While the other
machines had trigger problems, when they did work, they all sent the
pumpkin out past 100 feet.
M2 S2 is a counterweight driven spinning machine. Human power lifts the weight
with a come-a-long which then spins up the throwing arms. His second successful shot went
out 120.77 ft.
The Spinning Wheel was a marvel of engineering but with their farthest throw of
only 160.47 it was not enough to overtake the 'Putter. Later in the day, however
they were able to toss some pumpkins that might have matched our throws, but
we won't know for sure till next year.
Of course the 'Putter was able to barely hang onto its lead. Thankfully it worked
very reliably after we got all the right bits attached.
