This page lists some activities the Higgs Throwson participated in in 2013 after it was built.
This is the contest this machine was built for. With strict maximum height rules, and a maximum distance to throw, our little machine was happy here.

We brought the Higgs out to Dave Shepard's son's birthday party, and threw bean bags for the crowd.

Ready to roll down to the Higgins Armory for the contest. It wasn't till later that I learned it is actually easier to flat-pack this thing and assemble on site.

100 lbs of counter weight didn't do much better than 80 lbs.
We learned that the fulcrum spins when we fire. The dragon is now looking up at the sky.

Close-up of the arm and trigger. We just looped a rope around the base of the machine, and over the arm. On the other side of the arm is a small sea-catch. Release the sea-catch, and the arm pushes the rope
out of the way and fires!
